My 89 Blaster wont run. It will start with starting fluid and run in neutral, but as soon as I shift into first and let the clutch out it bogs really bad and dies. It will also backfire when I try to start it and it wont idle without dying. I just put new reeds on as well as an air filter and a 250 main jet. Whats the problem???

I am not a pro by any means. But isnt it bad to spray starting fluid in a 2stroke? Thats what I been told anyway.

Good luck with the rest.

check plug and coil wire. my girls blaster did the same. replaced the coil/cap and put a new plug in and it runs like a champ

try putting your old air filter and what air filter is it my bro bought one and we tried it on both blasters it made it run worse it would barely move then over heat

The old one was falling apart and was stock,so is the new one.

I tore the carb off puy my spair stock pilot jet in since his gasket on his was done, cleaned the whole thing out, everything.

Cleaned his pipe and silencer out.

Still the same.

Im 90% sure his top end is gone also, lost a ton of compression and the rings from what i felt through the intake and the exhaust port tells me there are no rings left in it.

She still wont run! Me and Cmh cleaned the carb, cleaned the exhaust, and put it all back together and still nothing. It started, ran in neutral, but wouldnt move for sh*t. And it feels like it lost some compression. And like Cmh said it feels like the rings are gone. It seems like time for a top end.
