So after waiting for my clutch basket, then waiting to get the part milled. And finally getting to put it together.
i found that i could not turn my engine over!
I could spin the clutch basket by hand half a turn either way, but no amount of force would let me turn the engine over. even with the kicker!
after pulling it apart and assembling a few times, i finally saw the problem.
the little ring had come out of its slot on the starter gear
simply put it back on, and i can now kick it over. (easier than tearing an engine apart, so check for it)
