Me and my buddy have talked all are friends into getting quads which they preffer blasters lol even though i suggested the raptor 660 like mine any way they went and bought the first one with out me, mind you they have no idea what there looking for or even at for the matter... the quad wouldnt idle the guy BS them and said it doesnt run in the cold blah blah blah...yet they bought it, just to make me work i guess...Supposedly the guy uped the main jet and piped it which means nothing since they didnt ask the guy what jet size he put in it... I ripped the carb down it was clean as could be i messed with the idle screw and there was a problem with the choke but thats fixed...i think ive narrowed it down to either a small vaccum leak from the head to the carb or the guy didnt jet it right for the elevation? the quad starts first kick aslong as u give it a little gas. any other suggestions that maybe i missed or advice would be great im stumped thanks!!!

sounds like an air leak bro. and air leaks on 2 strokes equal a quick and painful death to that engine. build or buy a leakdown tester before you run it anymore find and fix the leak. then do some plug chops to see if the jetting is correct.

air leaks are generally only a concern after the carb because thats where the air and fuel mixs. with an air leak you get to much air in the system and it runs to lean causing it to run hot and fry the motor so itll be after the carb

Thanks bud deffinantly gonna have to check it out tommrow and let you know cause i dont know what else it could be

you say you adjusted the idle.. If its a stock carb the idle adjustment is under the seat and on top of the carb. just want to make sure you dont think the screw on the side of the carb is the idle screw it is an air screw.
