Hello,
I recently went through and rebuilt the top and bottom end of my 2002 yamaha blaster. I haven't heard it run ever before, it was picked up as a project. After I got it back together the first time, I didn't have all my gears so I tore it back down again to find the shift cam(with its pieces) was broken. Its finally back together and I'm getting ready to sell it. However, there is a winding noise when its shifted into first. It gets a little better as you gain more speed. I have another 2002 blaster that doesn't make this winding noise. Any ideas on what it could be?

Does it "whine" in neutral? Is this original trans or did you mix/match pieces as needed? Did you bench test and it had no "whine" ?
Is it bad enough to affect the sale?
The "new" shift cam might be a hair different causing some rubbing of components.
You say better as gaing speed. Do you mean higher RPMs. or higher gears?
