There's so many because they were priced cheap when new. They where designed for a young rider but Yamaha left a lot of improvement hidden in the motor. I don't think you could be any better then a Blaster when it comes to non factory race built quads. The Blaster has light wight and a good bit of power to be had with upgrades.
I wouldnt quit go that far.. the lt250r and trx250r out handle out power and out stop the blasters.. yes the lt was marketed as "quadracer" but the trx and lt are still sport quads and if there not in full drag trim can still be trail rode allll day long....
Not turning this into a whats better just sayin.... i liked my.blasters but i can ride my lt all day long and not ne sore from soakin up bumps all day long
I havent had a blaster in like 3 years i stay fir the company ... factory race built to me would be the ds450x ktm 450mxr/polaris mxr and the yfz450 race package ( the factory wider version)... id like to get another clean blaster and do it right amd do it to fit me

Well mt blasters were stock suspension.. my lt.. not so much... lol.. i guess there technicly factory race quads.. i guess i dont look at them as that
They don't seem like it now because the newer "factory race ready" quads are so much more race ready than the TRX's and LT's were but at that time they were the race quads. They were pulled off the showroom floor, had tires and a pipe thrown on them and they were off to the races.
BTW, just in case anyone reading didn't already know this. The blaster's stock suspension SUCKS. The frame mountings and overall design aren't terrible as long as you swap out those drums brakes for hydro's. Blaster's can be quite comfortable (at least as so as any other quad) with the right setup.
