what's goin on!!!

today, i took the blaster out for a spin and relized that it was reving funny. About 1/2 throttle it will start to gradually rev fine then all of a sudden It will jump up into really high rpm's. Could this be an air leak? or reeds? I have noticed a very very tiny chip tooken off from the reed but hardly noticeable. Could this be it?

oh ya! i've also notice that it has been reving up and down when i just let it sit and idle.

very well could be the reed or an air leak. check the air leaks first by just shooting starter fluid on the intake. if it revs up you have a hole that airs getting into. if that dont work go and change the reeds
