what year is my quad?1?!?

Well looked at a thread for my year of quad and it said that the VIN number is 10 digits/letters, well i checked mine and its 9 digits..I think... here it is is it meant to be like this? if so what year is it and where is the VIN on the engine?

Here is my VIN : 3JM 198546 , on the shifter side and i noticed it as the paint had been rubbed off

there is no other numbers around this..so im slightly confused thanks

that is not the VIN you are looking for cus its the one on the motor which means nothing.

the VIN you are looking for has 17 digits and no spaces located on the frame.

I cant get a pic cus mine was sand-blasted off, but it is on shifter side of the frame

look on the frame just infront of the foot peg on the left side under the shifter if you sit on thge floor next to the bike it should be looking at you

if you cant see it the frame might have been painted. mine was so i couldnt find it. but i did find the sticker up in the front under the diagonal bar going down towards the engine. its a sticker with details.

this is the only number on the shifter side on the FRAME it is on the bottom bar, i have a picture of it but its on other pc ill upload it later, could someone tell me where the VIN is on the engine?

the vin on the engine is stamped on the right side of the crank case in the rear where it bolts to the swing arm on the top side an if im understanding the book right its an 89

if your sittin on your quad the vin is on the left hand side by the shifter look for the 10th digit heres a chart i found online that i believe is right hope this helps ya 10th character- Identifies the model year. For example: 1988(J), 1989(K), 1990(L), 1991(M), 1992(N), 1993(P), 1994(R), 1995(S), 1996(T),
1997(V), 1998(W), 1999(X), 2000(Y)------2001(1), 2002(2), 2003(3)
