its called a shift star. and yes that is correct. the non pointy one is for neutral.

Shift star, that's a stock one. The side that's not pointed is where it the "stop" stops the star for neutral.

I bought a kawasaki kfx 400 the other day and got a h3ll of a deal on it and need to know what is the plastic part called that covers the front sprocket? The stock part number if anyone knows cause it has tried to eat my pants and shoelace and thats not cool. Still love the blaster but for what I got this thing for it was a steal lol
