what is the best cylinder kit for blasters?
i was leaning towards ct first but those are extremely expensive so i started leaning towards vitos but then i heard they suck and they are still pretty expensive then i heard about trinity 240 265 and 285 but they are all so expensive. then i found LA sleeve kit its only 250$ is this the best choice? have you guys had any dificulties with them? you have to resleave the stock cylander and im not sure that i want to do that because if the sleeve moves the engine is dead.. has this ever been known to happen and how would i go about resleaving my cylinder or do i have to bring it to a shop?

ct racing is the best 240 kits and cyclinders out there. project blaster firebreather is second on my list

I didn't vote

I'd buy the CT or the Firebreather, though. Got the Vito. If the Vito was a $200 kit and had all it comes with, it would be good for the money. It will eat a stock motor. That said about all the other 240's will eat it.

Next one will probably be the CT.

the 285 kit is probably a 240kit bored out with a 8mil stroker, not reliable at all and only for drags

I have a project blaster standard 240 kit that was ported by a local guy. I run a +3mil stroker crank and my quad is set up for MX. With 14/40 gearing it was dead even in a drag down the road with a piped 250r. I think with 14/38 gearing i could pull away on top end.

go with the CT kit, with a toomey B1 pipe and 38mm airstryker carb it will smoke a modded R easy...I do it all the time my buddies got an R and he cant keep up with me!

Firebreather 240 kit is Great, my one friend has one, and i took it for a ride or 2, it rips, i love it, imma get one once i need to do a rebuild

what does it take to install the la sleve, i cant afford anything more, i know its not bolt on but what does it take to install one, could i do it? this would be a good diy post.

Sleeves need to be pressed out, jug needs to be bored to accept new cylinder ( i presume, and then the new, bigger cylinder can be pressed back in. I would not want to do this on my own unless A. I had a way to bore the jug out and B. I had some background in machining as this could easily go KERPOW!! if you don't know what your doing.

alright time for some needed fixes. Go BIG BORE AND STROKER CRANK. Search you tube for Flotek Blaster. thats a ct racing jug with a 3mm stroker. Runs all over 250r that are even 330's now. Its all about the right porting and exhaust tho. DO NOT GET A TOOMEYS FOR ANY BIG BORE. Toomeys are useless on anything besides a stock cylinder. Better than stock...of course. Better than lets say power pros or RDZ or shearers...Hell no. Whats funny is CT's 240 is a LA sleeve sonic 240...Along with trinitys kits. CT produces the 240 kits for all of those companies besides vitos.. You can make a vitos 240 run...But it TAKE A HIGHLY SKILLED PORTER TO DO SO!

I went with the Vitos for now and before I even get it I had it sent straight to Flowtech and had it ported. The bad thing about the CT kit right now is there is a LONG waiting period for them. They are by far the best kit out there but no matter what kit you get it will have to have a good port job done on it to get all the power out of it. The only bad thing about the Vitos is the stock piston that comes with it sucks... before I put mine in I'm going to just but a weisco for it.
