If I get this,I would like to know whats some good upgrades I can do.What are the weak points other then trans?.The main thing im looking for is more power.Any info on an 01 Raptor 660 would be nice.Is there a 660 and a 660R or are they the same?

exhaust,cam,big bore,oversized valves if they have them for an atv,p&p,gearing.check with blasterboy hes got one

If I were you, stay away from the 01 660s. Their trannys are like bombs and you really have no idea on how well the previous owner(s) took care of it. If you do get an 01 take that tranny out ASAP. Swap it with an 03-05 or get Yukon gears for it. The 660 and the 660r are the same thing, no difference. If you want power you found it. Honestly my friends yfz doesnt even have the same amount of torque. Most common cheapest upgrade is the 12/40 gearing. With that gearing the average speed is 86 mph. I honestly think thats only upgrade you need cause when are you ever going to hit 86mph, except if your drag racing. When buying the 660 you can plan on buying a one way starter and the Yamaha ones are complete junk and shred to pieces. First things first get the bike, get the tranny replaced/change to yukon gears, get a pipe (it makes it sound so much better) save up for one way starter gear, then start modding it. Most common mods consist of the Big 3. Pipe, filter, and jetting.

My '03 660r was a beast, and frankly, fast enough stock for most people. Hell, I never had a road long enough to top it out and I'm not sure I'd want to. Sure, pipe, filter and jetting, but otherwise what it really needed was suspension. A-arms, wide axle, better shocks, that's where I would put every dime I could.

Before you do motor work, get yourself some yfz shocks, wider axle and a-arms. The yfz shocks will mount up to the stock arms. Also if you flip the rear link, it lowers it.
You will not be going 86mph with 12/40 gearing on a Raptor. And how can you call top speed average speed? So you're saying that sometimes your Raptor will only go 75mph and other days it will go 95mph?

You're 15, you're not going to outsmart me at anything. I have owned a Raptor. A Raptor 660 will not go 86 with stock gearing, let alone a smaller front sprocket. Unless you can get yours to rev up like another 2k rpms.
