i have a 2003 blaster that when i run it accross a shallow creek maybe 10" deep or take real long washing it the motor starts but when you rev it its bogged down and wants to die im its an electrical problem the airbox is dry and im pretty sure water isnt getting in the plug

Hi
Check the High voltage wire from the plug to the coil and where it
goes especialy where it connectes to the coil and plug boot

Happy New Year !

ok so i pulled the plug put a new one in the box was a little wet inside put fresh oiled filter in flushed the carb took off the tank and checked the plug wire seemed dry couldnt find any water or cracks the red wire coming off the coil i cut away the cover and it was full of water i cut it all the way to the bulk of the wiring harness and replaced it all the bike starts up idles without a problem sounds great once you give it throttle about 70% it falls flat on its face

im kinda new to blasters so im not sure where the red wire connects does it work its way to the left side casing near the shifter cause a large coil of wires comes from it id like to get the bike to the bear minimum spark and lights is all i need the tors is removed and so is parking brake alot off connectors are blocked off

hmmmm if there was water in the coil, than its probs shorting out somewhere.... u might have to get a new coil..... take the plug out, connect the plug wire, and ground the plug agenst the engine head, than kick the kick starter as fast as u caan, and see if the plug sparks a lot... if it sparks a few times, than it might be the coil or magneito

but it idles and starts easy wouldnt idle require constant spark?

is there water in the stator cover?

just go through all of your connections and make sure they're clean, and dry. then use dielectric grease when you put them back together. this helps promote conductivity and protects from water intrusion. also make sure to check over all the grounds on the bike.
