I was wondering if it was possible to weld my shifting star to my drum while it is still in the atv? like is it possible can it be done?

aight wuts the best way to do it like a few spot welds on it or what? and i shou;ld put my keyway back in the slot where its supposed to go before i do it right pitboss?
i would weld in a circular motion just like stock. and if u are usin flux core wire i would stick a few leather gloves or something around it to keep the spatter from sticking to aluminum
I have always use the key when I do them and I usually tig weld the complete gear. You can also stick weld it just be sure that you cover things up.
aight sweet thanx now i have to find someone with a welder so i can go riding again it fell apart on me yesterday when riding so i thought i lost my gears cuz it gave me false neutrals so i parked it like asap and tore it apart
