weird clutch problem

i went riding in a new area i just moved to and going down a trail when the trail ended suddenly and there was a channel dug and i didnt make it all the way across the front wheel hit the wall on the other side and broke the tierod i replaced it and started the blaster up started on 1st kick like always but when i engage the clutch and go to shift it into 1st it acts like the clutch isnt working it jumps and stalls when i pull the clutch lever it feels like it should the clutch is fairly new but the clutch cable is old its pretty much adjusted at tite as it will go i havent had the time to tear it down im hoping all i need is a new cable or a pressure plate adjustment any ideas? thanks for looking

I would adjust it properly and inspect the cable.

If you push the clutch mechanism towards the front of the motor there is a pointer on the crankcase, the pointer on the clutch mechanism should line up with the pointer on the crankcase. If it is close, it should be ok, if not you would need to pull the crankcase cover off and adjust it.
