Just got back from a atv vs car accident. wasnt pretty. more details in the next few days since i cant really say the outcome due to legal things. just remember to wear your helmets while riding and ride sensible!

thats what i cant say. but you can basically guess the outcome...the quad was on fire in the ditch and the guy was like 30 yards from the quad. i think i was a 350 or 660 raptor (seen part of the headlight on the road)

Ah.. so the other guy learned his lesson haha.

There are way too many people who just don't wear a helmet.... A local woman last year spilled her brains out on the road because she didn't wear a helmet, she was a mother of several kids too. :( Some people just don't think something can happen to them, but it does... Just think of the name it creates for our sport?

ha yeah its unfortunate things like this happen but ill definatly be wearing mine all the time now. dont wanna see that happen to me! and ive learned my lesson with the kx125 3 weeks ago...but i came out with a broken wrist and 33 stitches in my knees and thats all thankfully. luckily i was wearing my helmet at the time too!

or a decant helment ud pay around 100 thats what i paid for mine so is 100 dolars worht like a grand in hospital bills if u f*** up ur head or worse woth ur life ppl need to learn to wear them they make them for a reason and i can undertsnad tht some ppl dont have alot of money but if u have money for the quad/dirtbike u got the money for a helment to i always wear mine even if im just puting around the yard its just stupid take like 30 seconds to put on and could save u from speneding hours at the hospital and weeks mabey months no being ablwe to ride anyway so why not just wear it

exactly my point...even though wearing my helmet didnt help in my accident, it woulda made a world of difference to this kid tonight and like i said more info to come later on when i can say stuff without getting in trouble

i havent had a wreck that bad. but my dad has on a dirtbike without a helmet he was going up a steep hill that jumped into the driveway and there was a car that was coming up his driveway and he stopped and his front brake handel was broken off and he popped the clutch and the handlebars came back and hit him in the head and he had to get 150 stiches in his head and two hole drilled in his head to let all the pressure out ( no exageration) but its all healed now. after that he always weres a helmet.

Goddamn. Your dad sounds like he was riding the hell out of that bike.

yea and he broke both of his hands riding wheelies in 5th gear on one. the powerband kicked in and he was gonna flip backward but he said his first instinct was to let go of the bike and he did and his hands hit first and he broke both of them. and one of those hands he had just got out of a cast so he really hurt it and it took forever to heal. thats why he wont ride in the cold because it hurts his hands.

Technically you are never suppose to say anything that you see at a accident/wreck, even though it does get passed around. Head injuries are among the most common and among the worse things that can happen. I have known of a couple people that have wrecked bikes/quads and walked away with a concussion at the least, and even that can have lasting effect for the rest of your life. A few other have not been so lucky, even one kid that had his helmet but it was not enough. Even as tough as the human body is, it is quite fragile as well, in today's world it does not take much to mess you up for the rest of your life, one accident at a low to moderate speed and cause enough brain hemorrhage to paralyze your or kill you. I have to admit I tend to leave the helmet in the house when I just putt around, even acouple times I've done some trail riding without it, but I have been lucky.

One time when a helmet didn't save a life was a kid 6 or 7 years ago(I was in 5 or 6th grade and he was in 8th). was riding and doing some jumps and the bike went over on him and the handlebars of the bike broke through the helmet and enter his head, killing him, so also remember that a helmet is not a be all end all, you still can get severly injured out there.

Did it look like this??

half the time that's not the only problem, its that people have them and don't wear them.

even putting around i wear my helmet, i wrecked with one once and hit my head pretty hard and still had a headache for about a week
