As I am waiting for my clutch plates to soak. Even though they have been run for about 5 minutes on that motor I figured I would give them a soak, can't hurt.

Anyways, I am using a Tusk clutch kit, it has the second plate that is thinner in inside diameter then the rest. With the stock plates it is the same way. I have heard though, that with stock plates there is a wavy little spacer/washer that goes inside that bigger diameter plate, and with aftermarket clutches like tusk and so forth you can take that out and it will be more grabby? Any thoughts?

I think I remember awk saying something about this too, that's where the idea came from

throw that little wavy bastard like a frisbee into the nearest woods, it was in there to give the clutch a softer initial feel for newbies

i too just installed 2 tusk kits, and used the thinner diameter fiber, i'd previously heard that it needed replaced with a full thickness one, but after my buddy's had good results, i used the thinner one on my black bike 2 weeks ago, she grabs great and stands up pretty easy even at speed

my Driveline Performance 240hd kit came with both, the thin, and a full size replacement, of course you knwo which one i used

either way, the wavy metal disc needs to go !

Sweet! Alrighty I will go throw it away and keep putting my engine together!
