i was ridin yesterday and hit a few small puddles and my bike died. so i pushed back to the garage and took the filter off (uni airfilter) started it up and drove it home just fine. What i want to do is get rid of the uni airfilter and put one under the seat again so i dont have this problem. i have the stock filter setup but will not fit on the new carb. is there some kind of adapter for this or do i have to get a new setup. what do guys think. ( just got the bike it was setup like this but i have the stock parts to.)

buy an airbox like a CFM on ebay you can offer them 80 bucks and he'll accept the offer or cut the rubber boot and clamp it to a pvc pipe then clamp it to the carb.. ill see if i can find the thread for you..

So you have an exposed airfilter, no airbox?? Water tends to be an issue with those!! You can try a filter skin thingy to cover it, those help keep the water from clogging your filter. But a protective airbox definitely would be the best bet.

i do have some kind of a sleeve that covered it but its no help

Airboxes FTW!! Every time I trail ride with someone that has an exposed filter, they have problems!! If you were at a track, or just riding in the pits, it wouldn't be an issue. But how many people only ride quads at a track or the pits?? Not that many.

Thats the the truth and i wont be doin a whole lot of dirt track ridin. we have land that we ride on in pa and it is pretty muddy back there. i need this uni airfilter gone!!

go to homo depot and get a 2 inch rubber pvc repair collar and a piece of pvc and cut the stock velocity stack back to where it fits the pvc , couple hose clamps and your done cheap and easy. it works with my 34mm carb. there is a tread here some where with pics but its not to hard to figure out once ya start

yea leave the lid off and put a filter on. stock will work if you have nothing else , i have a kn filter i perchased from vitos, you have to have a filter. and leave the lid off
