So I was debating selling the KTM 250 and putting the money into the blaster. I use the KTM primarilly when we ride in wide open places and mainly in woods. The suspension on the blaster is really stiff, so most of the money would go towards suspension. I was also thinking of doing some mods to wakr the motor up a little. I know its not going to be as fast as the KTM, but can a blaster be made close to that fast? I have a DG pipe, and airbox holes with little filters in them and 14/40 gearing with 18 inch tires. I was thinking about upgrading to A FMF pipe or something that I can get used under $100 and some reeds and anything else that will give me some more power. What are some other brands and mods to do short of motor work?

Do 14/39 gearing with 20" tires. Maybe try to find a better pipe than fmf for cheap. Also port work is pretty cheap, give one of the builders on here a holler.....

It would take almost everything avilablie for that blaster to be even slightly close the a 250 2stroke dirtbike let alone a ktm.

yeah it will take alot go for a right hand pipe they give the most power, and a bigger carb, low buck carb is a 250r 34pj, a 250r airbox is good and cheap also, do the timing advance

I found a pro circuit pipe and silencer locally for 75 bucks. I remember reading a dyno on here, and the pro circuit was a decent pipe for upper end power. Do you guys like this pipe and is it an improvement over a DG pipe? Also about the timing mod, When i bought the blaster, the guy said that it had the timing mod done. I brought it home rode it for an hour, and it overheated and cracked the piston. The mechanic I took it to said that this was due to running lean and that my timing was way over advanced. So Im a little hesitant to do that mod, but i may end up doing it anyways.
