I was helping someone out with there quad. I personally never used tapered rings. Everything I used has been squared rings that have been either marked or not. So I had to do some research. He installed the rings upside down and they jammed up on the locating dowel and ended up loosing all compression. This was before the bike was ever started to be more specific. He pulled the cylinder, flipped the rings and put it all back together and now it runs. And yes, I told him to pressure test and torque everything.
