I took this cylinder on trade awhile back thinking i would send it out to kor or flotek and use it on my drag blaster project. Its got a factory defect on the intake and im wondering if its going to have any affect on performance idk much about porting.

Cylinder is upside down in the pic, only way i could get a good shot of it.

Vito's cylinders have LOTS of casting flaws. I have seen many of them. You will have many to straiten out besides that one. When they are ported, you can get rid of most of them. The flaw in the picture can easily be epoxied before porting. I say your good to go. Epoxy that sucker and start porting!

Unfortunately, that's what you get with a Vito's cylinder.... Not a deal killer though really, considering that area is going to be worked on anyway during porting.

It may not even need epoxy, just depends on how it ends up once the thing is on the workbench.

i had a similiar problem when i got my vitos cylinder, bad casting flaws on the intake...

Well im glad its not just me i guess.

Are the LA sleeve cylinders any higher quality as far as casting?

The LA sleeve cylinder is a better top end for sure, it's also nearly twice the price now as the vito's setup. If Vito's was charging nearly $1,000 for their setup, I'm sure they would have cleaner casting....

Freek, I think you just had a bad cylinder man. I've had no trouble out of mine and I beat on it, hard.
