no he took out the reed stops from behind it he still has the reeds in it.But I ve neverdone this to VF3 reeds before I'll just wait for AWK08 and slickerthanyou to pop in. I would assume that it hurts it because every part has a place that's why it's there.

when thats in it revs up real high then just dies, but when i had those in, i also had the top 2 washers in that it came with, maybe a gap,
in the directions, no where its says to put that reed stop in. right now i have the gasket reed cage gasket and stock boot with 4 original bolts. it runs fine now but i was just double checking

only other things i have is full toomey kit no air box lid and it is jetted with a 310 main

i tried to run mine without that, and it wouldnt run for sh*t
i cut the nozzle off, but left the inner part, problem solved.

slick also had an issue once when running a reed spacer between the vf3's and intake, that piece would back out under load and shut the bike off
if you're running a reed spacer < it must be between the vf3's and cylinder, not behind the vf3's

IMO that piece must be used,
but the nozzle can be cut off
(i had to for my pro-design intake)

those washers are for cutting off the nozzle with a hacksaw blade, re-read the directions
THE WASHERS ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR INSTALLATION
YOU CREATED A HUGE AIRLEAK,
thats why it's revving to the moon
remove the washers, use a light coat of
ultra copper perma- gasket on all sides of the gaskets to aid in sealing them
then leakdown test it to prevent frying your sh*t !!!!!

i dont have the washers on now i removed them

so i should insert that piece, and i could trim the lip off

so i could cut and sand to make it smooth
would this help the low end. feels a tiny boggy but thats just me
