trinity stopped doing the 265s and 295s because they would over heat a lot and they made the cases PAPER thin.
they also didnt make much more power then a nicely ported 240/3mil stroker anyways. actually, most of the 265s had less top end because once the bigger sleeve went in, there wasnt enough room for larger transfers, boyesen ports or triple exhaust ports unless you welded more material on... all of these being gone take away hp and flow. most of the 265s had stock porting configurations... which are ancient (70s technology)
i used to race against a guy who had a 265 and it had a 4 stroke like powerband, very forgiving set up and loved to be bogged but he went through pistons on that thing almost every race.
as the old saying goes, there is no replacement for displacement, but honestly, that goes out the door with 2 strokes, id rather have a quicker reving stock bore/3 mil combo then a 265.
