Finally got my ride goin. While doing my break in, I'll start ride lightly then let it cool. Well on sat night, I came home from dinner, tried to start the bike, to find out that it flooded (leaky carb and forgot to turn petcock off). So I let it be. Sunday I go back to try it and on the 4th or 5th kick the kick start bound up. Today I was messing with it and when it's in gear the kick start will move when I push the bike forward, but wants to come back up when I push the bike backwards. Anyone have any ideas????

You may have a lot of gas built up in the case. Unplug the coil, take the spark plug out and try kicking over. Place a thick rag over the spark plug hole before you kick it.

Pop the clutch cover off your return spring may have broke not letting the kicker gear disengage.

/i highly doubt your tranny has bound up.

I'll try both of those. Which looking at the rebuild job, looks like the guy that rebuilt it did a poor job cause it's a bunch of rtv sealant instead of gaskets.

Just a freindly comment, one does not lightly ride for break in heat cycles, one must have the bike at a standstill and warm up the engine with varing throttle openings, and then let the motor completly cool before doing it again at least 3 times!

You need to fix the needle and seat so that it does not leak, before you attempt any more break in proceedures.

Everything here looks ok. I took the kickstarter off and it still did the same thing. Next week I'm going to tear it apart and see whats up.

Oh I didn't know this. I guess I've been told differently. I think I saw a fix on the needle and seat in the DIY section.

The one right below the screw hole? I think it was off and I tried to place it back in and it pops right back out. I dont think it's supposed to do that so I'm going to replace it anyway.

nope. not sopose to do that. the end of the spring should be in the hole. thats what brings the kick starter back and frees the clutch from snappping back at u when it starts.

Not trying to be on the side of doom, But drop the reeds out and see if the piston skirt is still there and not broken off and dropped into the crancase.

Or the reed screws are still in the reed block.

Or take the spark plug out and see if the top end is full of fuel.
