I started putting my engine together today and ran into a problem. I have the two cases together and have trouble going into 5th.. It looks like the "star"/shift cam is not turning all the way and it's slipping back into 4th when I turn the engine over.
Does anyone have some more in depth information on setting up the shift forks? I'm using the service manual but it's very vague on that part. Like for example how should the "star"/shift cam be positioned when inserting the forks..
