Top end rebuild..

What is the difference in 88-96 and 97+ motors? The reason I ask is because I found this top end rebuild kit and i thought all year motors were pretty much the same? any insight? Here's the kit..

There all the same
and make sure you dont bore any more then you have to

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to ride it this weekend then tear it down and take it to my local machine shop and see what they say. The previous owner said he has it bore'd he just can't remember to what. I know it's not a 240 kit because i had one on my old '02 that I sold and that thing ripped.

It should say what the bore is on the top of the piston.

He ment to put 88-06 i think the 0 and the 9 key are close together.
