Anyone have a nice top end kit they would want to sell? Piston, maybe oversized bore on the cylinder head, top head piece? I am kinda limited on funds...as usual...isn't everyone? I gotta broken bolt in my reed cage and I decided while it was off, may as well set it aside and maybe have a bolt on kit for the top end for more flow? I want the stroker crank...but the fundage just isn't there.

Recommendations are welcome...that is on a budget :D

I have a stock bore cylinder and head that are in good shape but usually those are like gold. Everyone has oversized due to blow ups. Not sure on the price I would ask but look around on ebay too.

I think I may just rebuilt the top end and drill and heli coil the reed cage broken bolt if I can't break it free. Maybe get a wiseco piston and get some new wristpin bearings and gasket kit. Would be around $130-$150 but may as well redo the top end while i got it off

So what do you think....pull the stocker off and get a new piston kit and call it a day? It's got over 7 yrs. of usage on it....had plenty of power before i even messed with the reeds.

I wanna take a propane torch, notch that screw, and see if it will expand enough to break free but i'm not so sure about the aluminum? Thats what scares me about that method...

i have 6 yrs on my current topend...going to re-ring it this winter....do a compression check and see what that is first..

with the bolt they make things called easy outs here is a link to what i am talking about...you drill a small hole in the center of the bolt and the easy out screws in reverse till it tightins on on the bolt and backs it out...your local hardware store should have them just get the right size..

here is the link
EASYOUTS, EASY-OUTS, EZ OUT, EZY-OUT, Bolt Extractor, Screw Extractor

Those easy outs scare me....i broke off a bolt in a motor I was building once and it was pure hell drilling the broken easy out + the bolt. I finally would up heli coiling it after a few hours of drilling and going thru bits. I just need to break the rust free in this bolt so it would at least turn. I'll maybe try something this weekend on getting it out...
