I have a blaster that i bought about 3 weeks ago. I noticed a small amount of oily residue coming from the head gasket area. After some help from members on the forum I figured the head bolts needed to be retightened as the the top end was just rebuilt before i bought it. Im interested to know if i should pull the head and clean the gasket and the oily gunk that has built up around the area before retorquing the bolts. Thanks alot for any help guys.

I would take off the head and clean it up really nice. Then put a new gasket on it to make sure your getting the best seal. Thats very critical.

the gasket looks pretty new and in good condition you think i should still throw a new one on?

Ive never owned a blaster...had a few banshees...a suzuki 250r and a quadzilla. I know its air cooled and all but i sure see alot of posts like this. Does the blaster vibrate that much or does it just expand contract alot or are there alot of folks who just snug up the head bolts instead of using a torque wrench? Im just about done with complete restoration on mine and wondering if i need to strap a torque wrench on the fender while its being ridden??
