Hi! Just got a 2004 Blaster, tested it out sounded great, Brought it home two hours later, started it up and and it made this awful chattering noise! Anyone know what this could be?? Guy we bought it from said it ran fine and had no issues with it. any input would be most helpful. thanks!

By top end you mean top end of the engine correct? not WOT kind of top end? whats it sound like? metal on metal? bad knocking?

had the sane problem with my kx250 cylinder was egg shaped. will have to be bored or sleeved. take the head off and look down the jug with the piston at the bottom of stroke. look at the side of the cylinder walls. should not be any scratch marks. if there is i would start there.....

link dat shiznat and make sure it is good quality sound with limited background noise.

hmmm that doesnt sound good at all, but honestly i cant tell what could be making that sound. could be piston slap, crank bearing gone and the pistons hitting the head or anything like that.

does it still have the oil injection? if not, your mixing correctly right? maybe its leaning out. dont run it like that till it gets figured out, doesnt sound good.

Imo, I would say its piston noise. Pull the plug,,,any metal on it. Like 89custom says...Oil injection or not...Or just run it,,when it breaks youll know what happend..
