SILENCER

Silencers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. A long silencer with a small diameter enhance the low to mid power because it increases the bleed-down pressure in the pipe. A silencer with a short length and a large core diameter provides the best bleed-down pressure for a high rpm engine. Too much pressure in the pipe at high rpm will radically increase the temperature of the piston crown and could cause the piston to seize in the cylinder.

so shouyld i shorten mine??? anyone got any seat of the pants comparison of a short silencer?? vids???

keep in mind mine dont look as long as anormal lrd silencer since the turn down is cut off

I think ur jetting will have a bigger effect on the piston crown temp than the silencer length.. An exhaust with a lot of back pressure will generally cause the engine to retain heat.. If you shorten it more than an inch, youll get oily mess on your rear fender from the exhaust.. I dont think an inch will make a HUGE difference.. what riding do you do?

if you have some to gain from an engine better at high revs, then do it.. if not.... Leave it alone.... P.S. I never heard of peoples engine seizing from putting a quiet exhaust on them ( longer also means a bit quieter) so i wouldnt worry too much... If your bent on making your quad more personalized, then go for it..

looking at it from performance aspect.... it feels good the way it is. just debating on pullin 2 inchs off prob.. idk. i justed to see what others thing,,, dirtyblaster shortend his but he had to.. it was hittin his beer holder i mean grab bar..

lol no the silencer housing wasen't holding up with how worn the holes were so i just re drilled and cut some off i don't regret it i actually liked how it sounded but actually do a test ride... only start up
