How does the linkage attach to the thumb throttle lever?

Does any one of those look right?

The ferrel (big round end) sits in two holes with cable between the "U" shape of it, with those "ears" bent back down, but not tight, so as not to pinch cable.

yes, that one ear needs bent back down like the far one

edit,,,,,,,,,,,,,dig my awesome "paint" skills, hahahaaaa
best i could do in a hurry

the first pic shows how the cable has to fit thru the opening of the ears,
the second how it will end up

typical....

When I looked at it the the first time I though to myself it looks bent, then as usual I overthink something and figure, there must be a reason why it is angled like that, I'm sure the Yamaha engineers designed it for a reason. HA!!!

Thanks for the quick answer guys.

hahaha awesome.

So let me just ask since I'm thinking about it right now.

There is no reason for that "ear" to be bent at all during installation of the ferrule?

As in I bent the ear back, then do as that CAD drawing shows? :D

yep, no need for it to be bent ever, and the lid prolly won't go on with it bent like that anyway

and turn the adjuster the whole way in for extra cable while doing it, then adjust for the freeplay

and i'll take that "cad drawing" as a compliment, LOL

The cover did go on. Had it not, I would have instantly brought the 5lb mini sledge into the equation.

Thanks for the tips getting that thing in there.
