Thought i would make a list of all the things that you should look for when buying not just a blaster but any quad for that matter. Heres what i look for:
-Swing arm cracked or bent
-Bent rims and if they hold air
-Steering stem is sold and doesnt have much play
-Frame is in good shape and not cracked or bent
-If bored out, ask why. It could be because he blew a piston
-The a-arm are in good shape and not bent
-Axel is straight and spins freely and doesnt grind
-All of the controls and levers work correctly
-Ask him if there are any mods to it and what are they
-Make sure that the key works and key hole isnt all mangled up
-Ask him if it was stored inside or outside, just to get an idea
-The handle bars arent bent or broken
-Kick start kicks over and motor isnt seized(obvious)
-The lights all work
-Take it for a ride and make sure its running correctely
-Make sure all the shocks are in good shape and are working
-No "knocking" sound coming from the motor
-There are no major cracks in the plastics
-The coil is in good shape and doesnt have any shorts in it
-When taking it for a ride make sure it shifts into gear(manual) easy and you dont have to stop on it
-Check the under body for any big gouges or dents
-Ask him if its ever been crashed
-Ask him if it has ever been rebuilt and for what reason
-All the lines and cables are there and working and going to something
-Break pads and calipers are all good and all the parts are still there
-See if there is a jet kit on it, or any carb things
-Make sure the chain isnt bent or have any clips missing
-If the side of the hand grips are mangled up he probably rolled it, ask him about it to make sure what happened
-Just use common sense when buying a quad, just check everything over
-Make sure its not over heating and not running to hot
-Check the choke and make sure that works
-Like i said before; always take it for a ride, they are expensive, so make sure your getting a good deal
