I start my quad up atleast once a week. It normally runs fine and I take it for a spin around the block for a bit. Today, I took it out and as I was coming around the house I hear a "clink" of metal and the engine dies. Now, when I start the blaster it idles but doesn't sound the same. When I rev it up it normally bogs down unless i feather it to keep the rpms up. When I am moving and I give it gas, it will bog down then hit the powerbound. So basically, its super slow to speed up. I think the gears might be messed up or the carb needs to be cleaned. (it was cleaned like 2 weeks ago). Any advice would be great. I have a new pipe and vforce 3 reeds with a k&n filter. The bike ran fine before until now.

did you re-jet after the pipe and filter? if no you just fried your top end. also did you do a leakdown test after installing the vf3's if no you just fried your top end. best thing to do is to do a leakdown and a compression test and return with the results. and for heavens sakes dont start it again

Yeah I got 130 compression. Im going to try and spray carb cleaner all around the carb and reeds while its running to see if the engine starts racing, then I'll know if I have a leak. I rejeted it with a 300 main jet. It ran fine before. I think I need a new spark because I should have let the engine warm up a bit longer before riding it. Thanks in advance.

maybe not but im trying to figure out what the noise could have been and thats the same way mine reacted when i had a pedal missing.... wont hurt to check. take a look inside the cylinder while your there and take the plug out and turn it over checking for noises or resistince.
