I was at work today and decided to bring a swingarm and glass bead blast it which cleans the F%%%76 out of it and add 4 inches to it. I was really in a hurry and doing it on the down low but it came out great for the short amount of time i put into it. I took it home and i will finish it when i get my shock so i can make the correct mount.

good clean welds for sure, great job on it......have some greens bud

THANX Bro!! Thats an honor from You. I am still waiting for some case savers or something,lol... Been tig welding for 30 years and have unlimited certification in NC. Trust me i done that in a real hurry or it would of been better but hell the factory welds suck, lmao.

Finished it this morning in the heat with my mig welder instead of the tig welder. I wasnt happy with the lower mount because its off a little and i am a perfectionist but here is the finished pic with the old rear mount cut off.

I'm working on planes for an adjustable one. It will adjust from plus 2,3,4. My main worry is about how much more weight it will add.

Did you sleeve the inside of the swing arm? I have considered doing mine myself and I was planning to sleeve it first.

Trust me on this. There is no need to sleeve the inside if its welded right. A good clean weld with an inch and a half extra material on the sides and an inch on the top will be more than enough support. I build swingarms for 300 hp plus drag bikes and if the weld is good it will hold. Thats the main reason i tig welded it was i know it will never break. An experianced mig welder and not a cheap machine from lowes will do almost as good. I know drag bikes dont jump but a 4 inch extension with no sleeve on the inside is plenty. My drag bike i break bolts on every run and chains now and then but my swinger never cracked with over 100 passes. The stock swingarm limits you on strength. If you look at the stock welds they fu*ing suck and its a stamped steel swinger. On this note i believe 4 inches is max for a stocker and this is just my opinion because its a stamped piece.

All this being said it all boils down to that stock swinger will break before a good weld with 4 or less inches in it will give out. Get a good person to weld it and you will not have a problem with 4 inches and less. You can sleeve it if you want but you will add unwanted weight and most likely if you can break it, it will be at the stockers crappy welds anyways or the cheap stamp areas.

Ok. Here's the question I know your going to get. How much to do mine?lol.

LOL, Yes i have had several inquiries for custom swingers and i can understand why because of the substandard metals and welds used in the mass produced swingers available online.

An adustable swinger on a blaster would be nice but not really practical unless your drag raceing and need a quick change because of track conditions and ect, ect.

Once you know how many inches best fits your rideing style i really dont see a need for any adjustments but i could be wrong for some.

The cool factor is a reason in itself i guess. I know many bike riders who have adjustable swingers and never ever touch it but it does look cool as shi$$

I aint the best welder in the world by no means and i assure you if you ask around you will find a great welder in your area to make you a 1 off custom swinger. A good place to ask is at a local welding school or community college and i assure you the instructors know the best around your area.
