Sump Plug Help!

Hi so i took my engine out today and i was going to drain the oil before i took it out but the plug was rounded at the head. so i took engine out and was planning on file the bolt a little then getting a smaller socket on it its a 12mm the now . would that work or anyone got any other suggestions? i wont be using it again as im buying a blue one to go with quad .

If the file thing works then go for it. It seems it would be very tricky though to get a perfect 12mm size on a bolt using a file....


If it doesn't work out, just tighten down a pair of vice grips on the head and loosen the bolt. I did that when the head on my bolt was stripped, worked great

vice grips, mine was horrible and just kept rounding more and more, put it on the circle part of the plug closest to the engine and that got it off i tried the file cause it was tricky to get out on the bike but no luck
