Stripped tranny oil plug

Well, the plug is fine. The case stripped. Any fix for this without buying a new bottom end case?

re-tap the hole and get a bigger plug maybe? But if you do this make sure you get a magnetic plug in case any shavings get inside from tapping the hole!!

Look up Heli-Coil...they work very well for stripped threads.

heli-coil is a good idea i have also seen a plug kit at advance auto that you will sit in the hole and turn the bottom and it swells out as you turn it in to seal the threads andyou take it outjust like a regular plug

oh... the magnetic plug is a good idea.. but it wont pick up any shavings from tapping out the case... as the cases are ALUMINUM!!!
