i was impact wrenching my tires off today was down to the last one and they all got stripped as i was trying to take them off. How can i break them off? without hurting the other bolt screw

so the stud itself is not spinning ?

ive had this happen on cars.

find a socket that is just a bit smaller then the rounded lug. take the socket and hammer it on and over the stripped lug.

now take your wrench and back the lug/socket combo off.

if you can knock the lug out of the socekt if not, time for a new socket.

stratton.

One can try placing a large cold chisel on the nut and without removing any metal, try to bump the nut loose.

For nuts that will not move at all, I take a small fine wheel grinder and remove one side of the nut, taking great care not to cut into the threads of the stud.

happened to me, i used cutoff wheel to remove nut then pounded the stud out caused its wrecked from cut off, then i popped a stud out of extra hub we had and replaced it.

Take care and all will be well, do not try to hack it.

you need a set of damaged bolt/nut sockets........

My wee cousin done this before He rounded the head on a wheel stud and I used what I think u guys call the red neck method to take it off lol. They are 14mm heads I used a good hex 13mm socket an extension bar and a lump hammer and beat it it on put the impact wrench on it and it came straight off.

when i was taking my parts motor appart so i ccould use the cases the nut on the crank stripped and i had to file it down to the next size down and use that socket
