Hey guys, I have a 2000 Yamaha Blaster and am interested in replacing chain and sprocket. Can anyone tell me when ordering the chain, what the sizes represent? meaning the difference between 420, 480 and 520. Not sure what those numbers represent. Thank you in advance.

Hey welcome, anyways those #'s are the strength of the chain. Most if not all chains are 520's so get that. Also if you want to change the gearing for more acceleration get a larger rear sproket or a smaller front sproket. If you want higher to speed get a smaller rear or a larger front.

Thank you sir. You already answered my next question. Getting hole shots for the back and would like a touch more acceleration, this is a great forum.

One more thing on this subject, if i step down from 22x11x8 to 20x11x8, would i gain acceleration there as well without altering sprocket size? only curious...
