My Blaster was missing the muffler when I got it. Bought a parts bike and the muffler is missing the end piece. Spark arrestor Id assume. Cause any issues to run it like this? Such as jetting/running lean etc??

I'm not sure if you're running a stock "everything else" if the silencer missing the end cap will cause it to flow more air (need jetting).

The only to make absolutely sure, however, is to perform a WOT plug chop.

As far as I know, no... May need to do some fine tuning and proly should jet it to make sure its right anyways... Plug chops will tell the truth

Alright. Everything else is stock but I need a carb kit and once that's done Ill do a plug chop. I know how to do all that (2 stroke seadoos were my last toys of choice). The bike ran great on the test ride aside from being loud as heck. Just went across the yard to see how it ran/shifted etc.

Yep. I know. Just got it and just trying to get it in one piece first. Then going to go through it and check everything. Leak down test when I pull the carb for rebuild. Has less than 2 hours on a fresh top end also.

Just figured someone here would know for sure as I'd think its not rare for that to go missing.

I will do a Leak down test before I ride anything 2 stroke that I purchase From now on , It takes less than 20 mins and Ensures a Leak free Plug chop and carb tuning !.

I've seen a bunch missing but I've never even rode a blaster with a stock exhaust on it!

I'm not sure, if everything else is stock, that the end cap changes the flow any.

Okay. Well once I have it all in one piece Ill do a leak down test and find the leak (I know it has one, idle hangs before dropping and jumps a little when sprayed near carb boot). Then after it runs/rides properly in stock form I will probably get a pipe for it and some other mods done.

Mods falling under the category "some other mods done" FTW! These little things are totally mod happy monsters. It doesn't even have to be super duper expensive to get some awesome power and some awesome suspension up under them and ride the pee out of them. You'll love it.

Yep, I bought one to put a couple bucks in and resell it... I was hooked on the test ride lol. Now I'm redoing most of it this winter and keepin it forever I:I I hope to pass it down to my daughter when she is old enough and thats when I plan to get another one to build up

Yeah mod bug is easy to catch! Like civic said there easy to get power out of. Hell take the air lid off an throw the right jet it right there u have more power.

Little things make a lot of difference!
You say fresh top end is it ported? Or head recamber?
