I was wondering what is the farthest I can push the stock bore out to and how far can I shave the head down and still get reliability and some good power?

you can usually go up to 68mm on the stock jug, but you really don't gain anything.....so don't waste a bore if you don't have to

get your head redesigned, not just milled, you'll be much much much happer

boring the stock jug out to about 68 maybe 68.5mm is all the farther you really want to push it. but unfortunately you wont see hardly any performance from it. use this strictly to revive the cylinder after it has been damaged. Shaving the head down will add a little more horsepower by increasing your compression. i dont know how far you can go with this though. your best bet is to just get your stock jug ported 140 or so bucks and get the head shaved for 93 octane pump gas about 50 bucks. this will throw you some good HP's with a pipe and air filter and reeds.

yea I am putting together a blaster out of spare parts to compete with my brothers he has basically a jet kit, vitos 240 kit, factory 7 exhaust. I have a jug that is .20 over and is in excellent shape. do you think porting this and shaving it will get me close to him. I also have a crappy fmf exhaust and a jet kit aswell. or if there is anything else somewhat cheap I can pick up that will help me.

yeah, if you have that jug ported, you'll be able to keep up pretty well

that FMF isn't as crappy as most want you to believe...

nope he pulled it out of the box and put it on lol.... no port ever done. so keep my stock bore and get it ported and shave the head down how much? also what piston should I run?

talk to a tech on here. you are going to want one of them to port it anyways. Flotek, wildcardracing2 or oconnerracing is where its at. they will know how much to shave the head how to port it. also a better exhaust like that f7 your brother has would be ideal. But yeah talk to them they will set you up and you can whoop on him all day long for alot less than that vitos kit he bought...

i like my wiseco pistons

talk to a builder (flotek, oconnor racing, or wildcard) and they should be able to help out. like i said, don't just have the head milled, have it actually redesigned and you'll be a lot happier

ok I do have a guy local that i know that does it. He does every thing around our area and does it for all the shops around and will do it for cheaper then they will just cause i have done a lot of business with him. Is it highly recommended that i get one of those companies to do it?

unless your guy is big into 2 stroke porting, you need to find one who is, the guys we mentioned have the blaster stuff about figured out

yea the guy actually started out doing 2 stroke race jet skis and now after years and years of doing things has earned all the business around. whether it is a 2 or 4 stroke jet ski or dirt bike or atv.

sounds like you'd be in good hands. there are plenty of good builders that aren't on this website

absolutely if you trust the guy thats what matters... oh and the experience thing yeah minor detail... but sounds like he knows what he is doing and talk to him he should know all the specs and everything. if he seems a little confused or not as versed with blasters then hit up flotek wildcard or oconner all very good depends on preference really.

i like wiseco, but i know that there are some here that like Namura

personally i like using a forged piston when i can no matter what
