I have a 93 Blaster that my father in law gave me that was sitting for a few years and in peices. The problem is that when I got it started and running (I left the chain off) I look down and the gear is spinning, And I have repeatedly made sure that it was in neutral, but everytime I kick it over it spins, I havent tried pulling the clutch in and trying, but any suggestions?

well its normal situation if the quad as been sitting for awhile, its the clutch plate thats stick together , nothing to worried about it will fix it self when riding ,but you probabely need to adjuste thats clutch!!!

because of the design of the transmissions (constant mesh) you will always have a small amount of rotation on the counter shaft even with the clutch in and/or in neutral. its perfectly normal. even with a chain on, you can lift the rear wheels off the ground and rev the motor with it in neutral, there should be a small amount of tug on the chain causing the wheels to spin. the amount of force is so small though that you will never be able to tell its there when the quad is sitting on the ground. that is unless as stated as stated above, your clutch plates are sticking together when sitting for a while they get surface rust on them. a couple of rides and it should smooth back out and be completely normal. be sure to put in fresh tranny oil before riding it.
