I have searched through alot of threads to find my problem and figured I would just go ahead and ask a question. If I let my Blaster sit for more then a week it take about 50 kicks to get it to start and then it smokes alot like it was flooded. Once the engine warms up it runs perfect and starts everytime the first kick. I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it. At first I thought maybe crank seals because of the smoke but the smoke goes away after warm up. I'm stumped and was looking for some input on my problem. Also I'm still using oil injection.

remove the oil injection..Trust me I had mine go bad and seized the engine and had to rebuild it..Kurt

if the oil injection isnt giving you problems, dont replace it.

as for the startign problem, start with a carb cleaning and new plug and go from there. after that, check compression to make sure you have enough and you aren't leaking any out through a gasket or something. it should be over 100PSI. its sounding like you just need a new hone, rings, and gaskets on the machine.

are you turning your gas off when you leave it? this happened to me, not quite 50 kicks but a hell of a problem. should always turn your gas off

I always turn my fuel off when I park it. I'm hoping It doesnt need a top end because I have only put maybe 3 hours on it since I bought it. I also wondered if the reason it smokes once it finally starts up is because the oil injection has been pumping oil in the carb everytime I try to kick start it.

thats exactly why it smokes. not a big problem but could foul plugs. maybe all it needs is a new plug. if it has oil buildup on the electrode it could cause it to be hard to start.

Yea, definatley try a new plug....When u try to kick it does it sound like it is catching on at all or no? I also agree with valhalla on the top end deal.....If you arent getting any compression at all(which you can test for to see if it is or isnt) then you might have to do the top end rebuild. I know it sounds like its mad expensive and tough to do but its really not at all....I just pulled out a catalog and for the whole project on urs as long as its not bored at all then you are looking at about a 100.00 bucks from wsm ( not the best company) or if you wanted to go with the best in preformance products it would be 150 bucks from wiseco for a full top end kit. These prices came out of denniskirk.....check the site out denniskirk.com.....if you need advice at all or help just let me know hea or pm me.
