I had to pull the head off of my blasty today because the base gasket was leaking but while i had the pipe off which is stock i could hear something metallic rattling around inside but it wont shake out. Has anyone else seen or heard this before

yep, theres a cast iron baffle in there for some dumb ass reason, mine drove me nuts with jetting for about a month before i found that. seems it can turn sideways and block flow.
time for an aftermarket pipe !
or cut that pipe open and remove the piece, then weld shut

Toomey! 15151515!. If your on a tight budget get an fmf. A lot of people don't like them, buy they are still a big improvement over stock. Do not get a dg.

DMC Alien for the best low/mid pipe on the market, leakproof fitup, good quality and IMHO the best sounding left bend you can buy..

I second the DMC ALIEN!
Leak PROOF! ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKS EVER!!! ... no springs require.
Fits like a glove!
VERY high quality!
Kick ass price!
The finish lasts a long time and is VERY durable!
A spark arrestor is available!
With the money you save, you can get some Vforce reeds.
