Well im doin a little wiring work first i need to hook up the tether. (yes did use the search bar but not 100%. i read that you need to hook 1 tether wire doesnt matter which? to a black and white wire and the other to the black one. Well there is 2 black and whites?

the 2 with ends are black and white the one without the end is just black. Which black and white wire do i hook the tether to?
hers how its hooked up but the motor is not in to test.

just picked one of the black and whites and hooked it up then the other wire from the tether to the black.

and for the lights i want to hook them up to a toggle.Ive done some research does this sound right?
as for the switch,
solid yellow to switch (signal)
black wire off bulb to ground (frame)
yellow w/ red stripe to the other switch spot. (12v power)

hook the tether to any black/white wire, then the other to any black or bare ground, like at the regulator under the hood
grounding out the blk/wht wire will kill the bike

for the lights ...find the yellow red wire running to your stock light switch, feed your toggle with that, then connect the yellow and green wires from your headlight to the other terminal/wire of the toggle,

neither of these "single pole switches" < the toggle or tether, have a polarity and it does not matter which wire is the feed or load, they just make and break the circut

how would i wire in a toggle to the kill switch?

a toggle to the kill switch ????
you mean like a hidden key ???? or as an primary or auxillary kill switch ???

and for what reason are you doing all this jury rigging wiring, what was wrong with the stock switching ????

Well, I understand why some guys run a tether, you get tossed from your quad, tether kills the engine. That makes sense. You can install the tether in place of the key, or the run/off switch.

But the thing with the lights, I dont understand either. The stock lighting circuit works, not sure why youd wanna change it.

im pretty sure i figured out how to wire up the toggle. and i have a tether and the bars look to crowded with the stock switches and tether. its not really jury rigging it either if you use the correct ends and heat shrink wrap them etc...

@ Luni im using a tether and i made a bracket to bolt to the bars that has 2 shorty black toggle switches

What kind of tether did you get?,

Were they plugged together? Hook it to the one that connects to the CDI

the 2 with ends are black and white the one without the end is just black. Which black and white wire do i hook the tether to? Both or just the one connected to the CDI if your eliminating any of the TORS,keyswitch, thumbswitch, if you add a killbutton like a MX bike, add it also to the CDI black/white kill circuit..

hers how its hooked up but the motor is not in to test They make identical looking tether switches that are different,,NO normally open~&~NC normally closed,,it needs to ground or close the circuit from the CDI with the tether pulled out.

just picked one of the black and whites and hooked it up then the other wire from the tether to the black. It depends on the switch you have wether or not that will work, you need a test light or multimeter or the box label your switch came from??

Have you thought about the switch going in the hole where the oil light was??

Hears some help with the CDI identification

Voltage??

maybe some loose wires to the coil, maybe the grounds arent all hooked together, i have looked at mine and it looks like it runs on its own ground wire circuit seperate from the frame, meaning the lights ground through the frame.

The coil is where you would get enough voltage to jump through the air and zap you.

Hows it work other than getting shocked.

works great but it is the style like the tusk one you posted and has the metal thing on the side and i think it shocks me when i touch it there but only happens when im not paying attention lmao
