well guys i just got this a couple days ago and i wanted to paint the frame. after some mins of thinking i wanted to paint it yamaha blue. i went to auto zone and bought some cans and headed home. when i got home i got the blasty out the shed and started to tear her down to the frame. within the first 10 mins i got all the plastics off and the gas tank. after i got all the electricals off i went to take of the swing arm and the main bolt was kinda seized , nuthing a little hammer cant fix, im only 14 and this is my actual taking a 4 wheeler to the frame project and so far im doing good!!I:I i put all the bolts in bags and labeled them. i got the engine off and now thats left is to get the a arms off and the steering stem . ill upload pics of what i got done since 12

Good job make sure you use clear coat and make sure you wait the appropriate time before coats or it will flake up instantly i just ran into the problem but over all rattle can turns out damn good.

Looking good! It's a good thing you labeled those bolts, it can be a pain to find them or figure out what they go into. That's when you get the whole project back together and have a few bolts left over! haha Good luck and I will try and keep up with this thead.

i still need to go buy a can of primer and some clear coat. i plan on taking this nice and slow and not rushing it. i want the best results

update* i got the a arms off and sterring stem off too. now i just gotta get thepegs and everything offf

I did the same thing with all my bolts, put them in plastic bags and labeled the bags with a Sharpie.

I'm also 14 and doing a complete rebuild, engine and all

Steal some of moms dawn dish soap and wash it good befor you sand it or anything paint related, rine good, make sure it's dry before any paint. Scuff paint with either sand paper or scotch brite pad (coarse)

i need to use some engine degreaser first then i will doing prep work. i hope to start assembling around thursday

decided to keep the thread alive. got everything to bare frame . just need to degrease the frame and rough it up alil . then i can paint. the color i chose is below

very true ^^ i could take a blaster strip it down split the cases and everything and have it back together and running again in about 5 or so less hours. thats how much i know the blaster. ive had mine apart about 10 times and at the moment im in the process of doing a complete rebuild.

Keep us posted.. Another young gun to the forums.. Haha im turning 15 in january. This hobby is very fun when it comes rebuilding these machines lol. Ive done a whole bunch of motor swaps with BBC 396, 454's , 502's .. Ive teared down only 4 blasters and rebuilt them. But only one motor by myself Witch is my stroker!!! Good luck with the build.. And good choice with the color..

I sanded mine then pressure washed it. When I did it the weather was still really hot so it dried quickly. Also I would Roccomend engine enamel it is the best rattle can out there IMO I have used lots of different brands and still prefer engine enamel

well im done with the blue , just gotta touch up. and clear coat. heres some pics
