Not really sure where to post this so bare with me. I was curious if anyone has built a full skid for their blasty, and skids for there a-arms. I trail ride alot and was wanting a set of skids, but I'm to broke to buy a set, and well like most here I would rather build something myself than buy it if I can. So if someone could shed some light on what you did, what you used, and how you did it that would be helpful.

Thank You
Levi

lots of people have done it. use the search please :D

i know Blastard has done it, just search for threads started by him

Heer's mine used old piece of ramp from my trailer and welded it to frame, didn't have money to make a frame for it or I would of welded it to that and then bolted to frame of quad.

I don't like the a-arm skids they hold too much debri only reason i didn't do that. All the aftermarket ones I seen are thinner than the chassis.

well i had built one i do not have pics yeat its still in progress but i used a pice of sheet metal about a 1/16 inch maybe? i dont know exactly but its pretty sturdy but not overweight and im going to use small muffler clamps around the frame so that i dont have to weld or drill the frame. just my .02 cents

Ya that what I'm in the progress of figureing out, I want something that isn't gonna dig easy, but I don't want it to be too heavy, although a little more low slung weight probably wouldn't hurt. As far as mounting I'm gonna use conduit straps, seem like what most ppl used, and is pretty simple to use.
