Hi I am new here but I am not new to blasters. I have found someone selling a liquid cooled head kit for $250 but I am not sure if I should get it. The head dome is 20cc compared to 22c stock. I wonder what is the smallest dome you can have and still run 93-94 octane. I have read other peoples comments about liquid cooling a blaster and I have heard that it is only worth it if you have a bored over worked out engine. Is this true?
I have a 1994 yamaha blaster. The engine is at standard bore with a vitos super stock piston. It has the stock carb with a vitos jet kit and a rad valve. The exhaust is a full toomey system. I have a dura blue rear axle and flipped front rims and the rear tires are mud sharks on itp rims which everybody says are too heavy and the front tires are stock style.
With this setup is it worth it for me to get a liquid cooled head? With the cost of a 240 bore kit I think the liquid cooling kit sounds good if there is a power increase. I am looking for opinions and comments.
