Whats better a ltr450r rear shock, trx450r rear shock,yfz450r rear shock, or a Kfx450r rear shock , and do u need kor bushings for all of them?

the lt and trx are basically the same, some say the lt is stiffer ?
i know the trx has an offset rezzie and requires cutting off a frame mount and cooresponding rear fender plastic tab,
the yfz is way too long, IMO
never heard of anyone using the kfx.
the 400ex is the simplest to do, and is a good shock.
all require the KOR bushing up top, or home brewed bushings

This is an instance when I'm with Awk 
The KOR bushing kit is THE way to go (unless of course, you have your own machine shop). It's inexpensive, fits well, and he stocks them regularly.
The "400" class shocks are nearly identical to the "450r" class shocks in build except that nearly every 450r shock has, as Awk says, an offset reservoir that will require you to cut the front mounting tab for the rear plastics off the frame.
I *believe* an older KFX450R shock is what Scotj's cousin steve is running and it required a little "special" spacing to keep it from hitting the frame altogether (after taking the tab off). Just for good measure, I'd stay away from that one too.
The YFZ450R is FAR too long to work directly on the blaster swingarm. It wouldn't be an impossible choice if you were setting up a custom application but if that were the case, you wouldn't be asking us about its fitment.

it will sit a little higher, but there is a fine tune threaded preload adjustment for it. also there is no shaving anything for the ltz shock. just installed that one on my 03. fits in there nicely. only thing you'll have to do is bore the holes on the shock to 12mm for the factory shock pin.
