shock covers bad?

been told not to use shock covers cause they can trap moisture? sounds gay but looking to buy some so though I'd ask

I use on on my rear shock to keep it clean because it normally gets like an inch thick coat of oil from the chain after awhile

and ive never had any probs...

i sold mine after i read a thread on explorerforum some guy had these rubber peices over his shocks and they ended up rusting right into the canister

They should not rust the shock but i would just take them off when you clean your quad so that way you know they will not rust them out

what if you were to paper hole punch a couple hole to let the moisture out? Any objection?

if u take them off when u clean the blasty, u shouldnt have to worry about anything rusting up

my shock covers have vent holes already in them but my shocks are rusting just a little not much but when i do clean it i take them off

I spray the hell out of my shock with Wd-40, then put the shock cover on. Every once in a great while I remove my shock cover and do it again. It works great,.

I hurd that the covers make's your shock heat up and that if it gets to hot you can pop a seal.
