shifter shaft ?...

ok, i put some gear oil in my blaster and when i let it sit over night there will be a little puddle the size of a quarter, it drips out of where the shifter shaft come out of the case,now my question is how would i go by making it stop dripping ?.. i was thinking like putting a nice bead of rtv around it.. cause i am not really trying to pull the shifter shaft out and replace the seal in there or w/e cause i got the blaster for free and i am trying to get away cheap haha.. post if u have any ideas ...

u can change the seal from the outside, just take off the shifter and gently pry out the seal, i think putting rtv on it is like a band aid, it will eventually keep leaking and only get worse

ok thanks for the reply .. u have any idea where i could get that seal ?.. cause i no my dealer wouldn't have it ...

The cheapest way is to get it from a yamaha dealer that way you only have to get the one.Otherwise you can get the kits for 25-30 for the whole engine.Chances are the seal is bad but you can try to gently pry it out and repack it with grease.

okk thanks ill try that .. ill try and get it out tomorrow and pack it with some grease and see if it will stop .. u think i could just buy the seal off the internet some where, cause i hate my dealer ..lol
