I recently bought a 2005 blaster and found an oil leak from the shift shaft. When I removed the shifter to replace the oil seal, I found that the case has been broken and repaired.
Does this kind of repair looks durable to you?
Also, I have a free play left/right of the shaft in the seal, is it normal?

It seems to already have been welded on the back side, and patched with the weird stuff on the front side. This weird stuff is really hard and seems to do the job right now, but I will have it properly welded when i will have to remove the motor.

For the shaft free play, is it normal or not?
I'm afraid that replacing the oil seal will not fix my oil leak...

There should not be any play in the shaft. If there's play, somethings not right. You will need to grind it all back off and weld it properly, or send it to someone to get repaired.

We have a member on here that does case repairs. His name is "sicivicdude". Look for his yellow name and send him a PM. He'll get that thing fixed right up

I would glue the seal in with 3 bond. Wrap shaft with masking tape to protect seal while install, pack inside of seal with grease. Not much you can do without complete teardown, unless oil pours out, ride it and watch oil level
