man, i've been waiting months to finally ride my blaster w/ the shearer that i mounted but kept running into probs w/ my engine (not related to the pipe or anything).
got her out this weekend and ripped into her for about 4 hours and man she rips ass!!! she's like a completely different bike!
before i put on the shearer, i had the f7 pipe on her w/ kennedy_power's port/polish and head work, and it made lotsa power, but the band was real touchy. it peaked really quickly and short. a great pipe that sounds good too, def nothing wrong w/ it at all. not the best powerband for riding wheelies though cuz it's hard to tel when the bike's gonna hit the peak and try to throw you....

angus redesigned my head and cylinder porting to accommodate the shearer pipe more fluently and the power gain is incredible! the shearer pulls a LOT harder in the bottom end and winds out pretty high (though not at all like a drag pipe). i did some road riding (pulled the front end up easy) and a sh*t-ton of tight trails and straightaways and the blaster now just pulls out of corners hard! no more searching for the power band, i can accelerate real hard at pretty much any point in the band.
the pipe sounds different too. it's still a 2stroke, but it's got a sort of deeper rumble/growl to it that i've never heard on any other 2stroke.
the only down side i came across is mounting. i've talked to angus about it and he's gonna tell shearer. the mounting flange is shaped so that there's no way to use the stock exhaust studs and nuts. the pipe won't sit flush on the flange. i had to pull the studs and replace em w/ short allen head bolts. i also didn't use the upper mount to the frame because it pulls on the pipe at the head. even then the pipe just won't sit completely flush on the flange. i'm gonna try lining it w/ some gasket maker to see if it'll seal up better. also, those 2 springs are a biotch to get on. it's easier if the bike's stood up on the grab bar.

all in all, i HIGHLY recommend this pipe to EVERYONE who does a lot of trail riding and wants tons of bottom end. but it won't give nearly the same power unless the head design and porting match the pipe.

i'll try to get a vid next time i ride.

oh yeah, also i advanced my timing by 5* for more mid range power.

Glad you liked it alot.Shearer makes a nice pipe but sad to hear it is not a direct bolt up.Making mounting tabs and the correct Flange is very important to the life of the pipe.

mine seemed to mount up fine, i used the stock studs and nuts... i love the power on mine too, haven't even advanced the timing yet either. your right about the springs tho, gotta grab them on one end with a pair of vice grips and use the frame as a fulcrum to get leverage to put them things on...

i love the sound of that shearer too... i fire it up and just start grinning...

hell yeah man, it sounds great! i did the fulcrum thing on one side, but i found it easier to stand her up on the grab bar and pull on em w/ the vise grips.
as for the mounting, i'm not sure why it's not mounting up 100%....there's a small gap still at the flange, but the flange itself is solid...

i took my digital camera out today to get you guys some vids, but then i realized my ancient 3.1 mp digital camera doesnt take sound....

i got some on my cell from before, i'll try to get them up.
